Her Story

There is peace in knowing that Jesus is the one with the pen and he is the one writing our story. Hebrews 12:2 says he is the author of our story and he is the finisher or the completer of it.

Hebrews 12:2
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

He is the beginning and the end. The Alpha and Omega. Nothing exists without him. He spoke things into being. Genesis 1:1 says he spoke and created the heavens and the earth.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

We canʼt hide anything from him. He is the light of the world. He knows our innermost being and sees our heart. He not only knows our name, but he knows our thoughts.

You know how it means a lot if someone remembers your name and if they remember how to spell it correctly? It means they care about knowing you. Jesus not only knows your name but he has it engraved on the palm of His hand.

Isaiah 49:16
6 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

John 4:1-30 and 39-42 talks about the story of the woman at the well. Jesus knew her story. She couldnʼt hide it from him. Do not be ashamed of your story. Jesus wasnʼt ashamed of her. She had 5 husbands and the one she was with she wasnʼt married to. She did not know Christ. He spoke to her when it was against cultural barriers for him to speak to the Samaritan woman.

Jesus loves the broken ones. He is close to the brokenhearted. Jesus told her who she was and then he told her who he was. He revealed to her that He was Christ the Messiah.

Our story doesnʼt matter if Jesus isnʼt in it.

He changes our story.

Her encounter with Jesus led her on a mission to share her story of him with others. She came to the well to get water and meet a physical need but she left without her water pot because she met Jesus, the living water who is our continual supply.

He fixed her temporal need with an eternal solution.

No matter what our personal story is, how different they may be, we are all one in Christ if you are saved and we have the same identity found in Christ. Weʼre all different yet weʼre all his daughters and his forever. So go share your story! Turn your mess into a message.
