The Cultural Shift

I have been so burdened for our culture the past year. I’ve seen huge cultural shifts that have taken place and I am still in disbelief. These shifts have taken place in small quiet ways and then when they are accepted they are shouted from the rooftops as truth.

The enemy is sneaky and deceptive and he makes you think if you go his way you will be wiser and more spiritual. Kind of like Jezebel. Kind of like how he tempted Eve in the garden. He uses the same method today. It all starts with, “Did God really say this? Does God’s Word really say not to do that? My greek interpretation is different. You need to read between the lines. You need to totally cut out the Old Testament or the book of James.”

What?!? This is almost laughable at how obscure it is. There are movements going on about the earth being flat and about sexuality. The basic role of male and female is being questioned and changed from every side. Women preachers preach with more intensity while male preachers sound and dress feminine.

Wake up! Open your eyes! Men are staying home to let their wife climb the corporate ladder. We are not called to be “boss babes” we are called to be Titus 2 women. The Word of God is no longer ruling people’s lives and decisions. It has affected the children. They are lost and they depend on us to show them the way and we can’t if we have thrown out the only absolute truth in this world, God’s Holy Word the Bible. It is the compass and our guide so why do we neglect it?

Titus 2 says:

“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”

As women, read verses 3-5 and evaluate your life. If you don’t know what those words mean then google it or look it up in the dictionary. Find out what it means to be discreet and chaste. Ask your husband if he feels loved by you. Tell him to be honest with you have the guts to put into practice what he says without getting your feelings hurt. Ask your children if they feel loved by you. For children love=time. Find out what it means to be sober. If we don’t do these things we will blaspheme the Word of God.

And that’s the problem. Christians, or so called christians, these days look just like the world.

But yet the Bible says in Romans 12:2:

“2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Are you reading the Bible and letting it transform you? It may mean cutting some things or people off or getting rid of bad habits. It may mean finding your dusty Bible and reading it again. The next generation is depending on you.
