Baby Wonder

I posted earlier about Chamomile and how you can use it in tincture form for babies.  Some of my friends in Kentucky named it Baby Wonder   because they saw how quickly it calmed my baby down!   When my 3 1/2 month old cries during church (or anywhere for that matter) I dip his pacifier (a safe plastic one:) in the chamomile and glycerin tincture and put it in his mouth and he calms down immediately.  He likes the sweet taste of it now and it is perfectly safe.  It has a strong sweet taste you may not like at first but now my baby LOVES it!  Every Mom needs this!   I am about to make a big batch of it next week and mail some.  Leave a comment with your name, address and how much you need if you would like to get some from me.  Adults can take a Tbsp or two to calm them down or get them relaxed for bedtime.

Sugar

Many people made new years resolutions last month that revolve around weight loss, health, and nutrition.  Whether we are trying to lose weight or not we should ALL be concerned with our health.  I used to eat sooooo much white sugar and junk food.  I was not gaining weight because I exercised a lot so I kept eating it.  I did not realize the damage it was doing to my overall health until years later . White sugar is in almost everything these days in some form or another.  High fructose corn syrup, the first ingredient in most processed food, is even worse than sugar.  It poisons your body and damages your health.  I know you are thinking, "How can I live without sugar or processed food!?"  I used to think that way. It takes time to say bye bye to sugar.  It is hard at first, but your taste buds will slowly change.  Your sugar cravings will go away because it is actually the yeast buildup in your body that is craving more yeast...

Why not you?

Our country is in desperate need for Christians to step up to the plate and allow the Lord to use them.  There is so much that needs to be done for the glory of God .  God has gifted ALL of His children with spiritual gifts to be used for Him.  Find out what yours is...ask the Lord to show you in His Word what He would have you to do in these last days . Don't sit this battle out...put on the armour of God and fight for His Kingdom...we win in the end!  Why not let God send revival through YOU and your family?!

Valentine's Day Everyday

I love Valentine's Day!  I even loved it when I was single.  I remember in high school I didn't have a boyfriend so I made little Valentine's to pass out to people who I thought needed one.  I wrote a bible verse on it and something about how the Lord loved them more than anyone else and He could be their Valentine.  Sometimes it is easy to become selfish on Valentine's Day and just focus on what our lover is going to do for us...or have a pity party over what he did NOT do for us!  This year I wanted to focus on showing my husband how special he is to me on Valentine's Day instead of wondering what he would get me.  It turned out that he outdid himself and was Mr. Romance on Saturday and sent me surprises through the day with sweet notes and took me out to eat. I was so overwhelmed at his thoughtfulness.  On Monday I cooked a meal he requested and set the table with a pretty white table cloth, red roses he gave me, and red and white candles....

Revival

Sorry I have not posted all week.  My husband has been preaching a revival in Crawford, Ga.  It was Sunday through Wednesday but they extended it through Friday because God was really doing some things in people's lives.  Six people got saved, 2 rededicated their lives to Christ and two were called to the ministry!  Praise the Lord, He is so good!  When I think about revival I usually sit around and wait for it to happen...I even pray that it will happen.  But this week I was challenged by the Pastor there to get on my knees and pray throughout the day before church and let God revive my own heart .  A church service is made up of individual people.  Don't sit around hoping the service will be good because the person next to you spent time with God and is revived.  YOU be revived.  Our country needs revival and it starts in individual hearts...yours and mine.

Reality Check

There are many people who would say they are Christians, but in reality they are not.  Eternity is very real and we will be spending it in a REAL Heaven or a REAL Hell.   I am concerned for you...are you REALLY saved?  I have examined myself to see if I am in the faith and I beg you to do the same.  " Examine yourselves , whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.  Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"  2 Corinthians 13:5 My Pastor preached a message on the evidence of salvation and I thought it would be good to share... The Evidence that You are Saved: 1. You will have a distaste for sin  1 John 2:3 (You won't enjoy it like you used to, when you sin the Holy Spirit will convict you) 2. You will love other believers and love going to Church  1 John 3:14 3. You will desire to read the Bible, God's Word   1 John 2:5 4. You will have the eternal witness of the Holy Spirit...

Rearranging Heart and Home

Today my friend helped me rearrange and reorganize my house.  We spent all day doing it and we are still not done.  God has been reorganizing my life lately as well.   He is trying to get my priorities in the right order.  He is trying to get sin, selfishness, laziness, pride and perfectionism out of me and get the fruit of the Spirit flowing through me.  Things get messy and ugly when you clean out clutter and rearrange your house...or your heart .  God puts me in situations where my ugly side comes out for me to see.  It is then that I realize God is still working on me.  Sometimes things look worse before they look better.  All my sons clothes were dumped in a pile in the middle of the floor and it looked really messy, but that was the only way to clean out the ones that were too small and get rid of the ones with holes or stains.  Now they are folded neatly in a plastic bin!  Sometimes it may feel like our life is in a messed up...
