Crockpot Honey Sesame Chicken

This recipe came from the comfort foods blog or website....sent via email to me from my sister-in-law who is a great cook!

So, I made this recipe the other day and we LOVED it!  It was pretty easy too:)  I am all about easy when it comes to cooking!  (Except grinding my own wheat into flour and baking from scratch....)

This recipe serves 4

Cook rice to go with this dish

6-8 boneless skinless chicken thighs or 4 breasts
salt and pepper
1/2 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup honey
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
4 tsp cornstarch

1/3 cup water
rice
1/2 Tbsp sesame seeds
3 scallions, chopped
broccoli, optional...put in toward the end til its steamed through

Place chicken in crockpot with salt and pepper
In med. bowl combine onion, garlic, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, oil and red pepper flakes
Pour over chicken
Cook on low 3-4 hours or high 2 hours
Put broccoli in
Remove chicken to a cutting board, leaving sauce, and shred into pieces or chop into bite size pieces
Prepare rice
Dissolve 4 tsp cornstarch into 1/3 cup water, add to cp and stir, cover and cook on high 10 more minutes
Put rice on a plate, top with chicken and spoon sauce over and sprinkle with sesame seeds and scallions (which I didn't have but it was still good!)
