Dear Mamas

 Dear Mamas,


You wear so many hats.


You are an easter basket finder, party planner, grocery shopper, house cleaner, cheerleader or coach. 


You are a chauffeur, a nurse if need be, a prayer warrior, a disciplinarian, a shoulder to cry on.


You are a laundromat, a shopper, a planner, a scheduler of trips, budgeter of money and more. 


But don’t forget who you really are. 


If you are saved; if you have asked Jesus to forgive you and save you from your sin, you are His precious Princess. 


Sometimes us Mamas need to be reminded we have One who cares for us. He cares for your heart, your soul, your mind and body. 


He wants to carry your burdens. Life can get heavy. Jesus is waiting for you to come to Him. 


“Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28


In your long list of to dos, write His name on it. Jesus. 


Spend a minute of quiet time resting in His love for you. 


Let Him hold you and calm you and speak to you. He has so many precious things to share with you. 


Mama, you aren’t in this alone.

We had to make an unexpected trip to Georgia last weekend because my husbands grandmother died.  She was 87 years old.  Her name was Elizabeth Mason.  She lived with my husbands parents for the last 10 months of her life.  Before that she lived in an assisted living home.  I can't imagine what it must be like to grow old.   Today is my birthday and I am only 29...however, all week I have been freaking out about being almost 30!  Then I remind myself that that is NOT old at all, right? ;) I was wondering today how people grow old with grace.  You meet people who grow old and never complain about it.  They are a joy to be around and full of wisdom.  Growing old must be difficult because there are so many changes in every way.  The way you look and feel and sometimes where you live even changes.  I can't imagine having to leave the house that you called home year after year.  And being dependent on other people to help y...

Sugar

Many people made new years resolutions last month that revolve around weight loss, health, and nutrition.  Whether we are trying to lose weight or not we should ALL be concerned with our health.  I used to eat sooooo much white sugar and junk food.  I was not gaining weight because I exercised a lot so I kept eating it.  I did not realize the damage it was doing to my overall health until years later . White sugar is in almost everything these days in some form or another.  High fructose corn syrup, the first ingredient in most processed food, is even worse than sugar.  It poisons your body and damages your health.  I know you are thinking, "How can I live without sugar or processed food!?"  I used to think that way. Moment with the Master Week 5

We have been studying Psalm 63 and will finish it this week.   Take some time now to pray and reread all of Psalm 63.   Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and counsel you and help you understand the Scripture. Read Psalm 63:6.   What do you think about when you lay down to go to sleep?   I usually think of everything I did that day, things I didn’t get to do, and my huge to do list for the next day.   Thinking on those things just makes me feel overwhelmed.   The Lord doesn’t want us to feel overwhelmed, discouraged or even worried and stressed.   He wants us to sleep sweetly and feel rested as we meditate on Him.   Psalm 42:8 says, “Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.”   You can think of songs and say prayers as you lay in bed.   I love to drift off to sleep while I have been praying to Jesus laying in bed.   It is so peaceful!...
